Nice Coincidence

How's this for a happy coincidence? Vancouver's celebrated chief planner, Larry Beasley, will speak tonight at the University of Pennsylvania, 6 p.m. in Meyerson Hall's basement auditorium. Beasley is the planning mastermind who helped make Vancouver one of the most liveable cities in North America. Wouldn't it be nice if some folks from the Philadelphia City Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment stopped by to pick up a few pointers? I'll be there and I'll let you know what Beasley has to say.

Vancouver is an amazing city. This speech and appearance is fascinating news to me. I look forward to you passing along some of his thoughts regarding Philadelphia to us.

Thanks for taking the time on your blog Inga. Getting development, architecture, and construction news in this city is beyond hopeless, except of course for your all too infrequent column. Ernie Young from the Daily News will have some news once every so often as well. So good work by her too.

Inga, it would be outstanding to get your thoughts on the current and upcoming condo towers being built in center city.

Odds of probability?

Mandeville
10 Rittenhouse
Residence at Ritz Carlton
Murano
Marina View
Opus
Is 1441 Chestnut still on the radar screen?

Any other secrets you can share with us would be a bonus.

You asked for odds on which condos are likely to get built in Philadelphia. It's always hard to predict, but this much I can say for sure: The Murano is ready to break ground any day. When the crummy Budget rent-a-car building is gone, you'll know the tower is really happening. All the rest remain up in the air (or not, up in the air).
